We are offering a $100,000.00 Signing Bonus for an Associate Veterinarian to join our fantastic team! 

 

Our clinic will provide an excellent environment for veterinarians interested in practicing the highest level of medicine and surgery. Our doctors all have varied interests, which we highly encourage and support.

 

About our clinic: Capitol Illini Veterinary Services is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the gold standard in medical and surgical care. We believe healthy pets make happy people, and we strive to provide high-quality veterinary care for cats and dogs in the Central Illinois area. We are AHAA Accredited, Cat Friendly, and Fear-Free Certified!

 

We use Pulse by Covetrus for our electronic medical record software, which is cloud-based. We also have the Imagyst, an AI-powered microscope that can read urine, ear cytology and FNA's.  Our staff also utilizes Scribenote, an AI automatic documentation tool. This allows the DVM to record and upload SOAP logs, phone conversations, and more!

 

Our doctors perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, dentistry, and orthopedic procedures. We do have laparoscopic surgical equipment for any candidates interested in laparoscopic procedures. All our patients undergoing anesthesia have per-op lab work and receive an IV catheter, IV fluids, and are carefully monitored and recovered by our skilled surgical technicians.    

 

Most importantly, we have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to the success of patient and client care. Every doctor is well-supported with a 3:1 technician to doctor ratio. We have dedicated assistants per doctor each day who enter charges, discuss treatment plans and assist each doctor, as well as technicians in the lab and to help with procedures.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

 How you'll make an impact: 

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.  
  • Maintain excellent client communication.  
  • Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.  
  • Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.  
  • Call clients for follow up and to discuss results.  
  • Set standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical areas. 
  • Maintain practice growth and review financial reports. 
  • Communicate clearly and accurately through written and verbal interactions. 
  • Work in collaboration with practice manager for administrative management. 
  • Deal with clients in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. 
  • Mentor team members in the training program for career advancement and personal development towards goals. 
  • Provide feedback and changes to the training program. 
  • Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well. 
  • Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations. 

Qualifications

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead and establish a vision for the practice team. 
  • Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.? 
  • Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills. 
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. 
  • Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections. 
  • Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and ability to readily explain them to the clients. 
  • Knowledge of the common anesthesia and recovery states and ability to alert veterinarians when symptoms change or when concerns arise with hospitalized patients. 
  • Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature and recover a patient from anesthesia. 
  • The employee must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. 
  • To perform this job successfully it will be necessary to become proficient in the use of the practice management software.
