Associate Veterinarian - DVM

The Veterinarian is a key member of the Mission Pet Health (MPH) hospital team. Veterinarians must be able to diagnose and treat a variety of patients and diseases, provide follow up and prognosis to veterinary clients, and provide leadership and training to the medical support staff. Veterinarians must provide complete medical notes and accurate medical estimates. Veterinarians are responsible for working full assigned shift hours.

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MPH.
• Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.
• Maintain excellent client communication.
• Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.
• Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
• Call clients for follow up and to discuss results.
• Set standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical areas.
• Maintain practice growth and review financial reports.
• Communicate clearly and accurately through written and verbal interactions.
• Work in collaboration with practice manager for administrative management.
• Deal with clients in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
• Mentor team members in the training program for career advancement and personal development towards goals.
• Provide feedback and changes to the training program.
• Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well.
• Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
